Drink The Craft

Craft beer news from San Diego and beyond.

Neighborhood, the hip beer and burger bar on 7th and G downtown, announced the introduction of craft coctails to their drink lineup, which (for the record), is already one of the best in downtown San Diego (27 taps and a short but quality bottle list).

From their website:

“Starting Saturday, August 22nd Neighborhood will continue the tradition of celebrating thoughtfully crafted beverages by introducing: Lost Cocktails. By doing so, we hope to emphasize, and show our respect for, the true art of a well-crafted cocktail.

“We believe in keeping things simple, so our menu will feature only 2 craft cocktails—done right. We are excited to brew our own Ginger Beer, use only the finest craft distillery liquors available, plus the juice of organic fruits. No detail overlooked, our ice is made in house as well; boiling water before freezing creates crystal clear cubes that don’t detract from the cocktail’s consistency, and won’t dilute its flavors.”

It’s not clear whether the two coctails will be a roating or permanent selection, but here are the two cocktails they are offering starting Saturday:

Rye Mule - “A whiskey twist on the original Moscow Mule. Sazerac Rye Whisky, lime, and Ginger Beer.”

The Elderflower Collins - “A light floral citrus combination that is subtly sweet and refreshing. Gin, lime juice, Angostura Bitters and Ginger Beer.”

For the record, homemade ginger beer is way underrated.
